Thomas Bauwens is currently a post-doctoral researcher at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL). He holds a master from the Catholic University of Louvain and a PhD from the University of Liège, both in economics. During his doctoral studies, he conducted a long-term stay as a visiting researcher at the School of Geography and the Environment, University of Oxford. His current research focuses on the socio-economics of collective action and its applications in the field of sustainable energy innovations. He has published several scientific publications on these topics in international journals, such as Ecological Economics, Energy Policy, World Development and Energy Research & Social Science. Previously, he conducted a research project in Santiago de Chile about the socio-economic practices of popular economy organizations in marginalized neighborhoods.
