Sarah Bogaert, environmental economist, is an experienced project manager and has been working for the last 20 years on policy, sustaining studies commissioned by European, national and regional governments. She coordinates projects in the field of Smart cities & Sustainable Built Environment for the European Commission. She is the coordinator of the FP7 Smart Cities project City-zen (25 partners, http://www.cityzen-smartcity.eu
). Also for DG Energy, she has managed the Ecodesign Preparatory Study on Smart Appliances, and currently she is the project manager for the Support Study for setting up a Smart Readiness Indicator for Buildings. Besides project management, her core competences can be found in the field of impact assessments, cost-benefit analysis in the framework of feasibility studies, economic aspects of waste, water and chemicals policy and economic valuation of ecosystem goods and services.
