After graduating from Federal Higher Technical Institute Wels for electrical engineering in 2007, Gerold Muggenhumer studied Environmental System Science with Focus on Economy at the Karl-Franzens-University Graz. During his bachelor study, Mr. Muggenhumer absolved several traineeships in the energy sector. Following his bachelor, he started the master program Management and applied Economics at the University of Linz. While finishing his master degree, he was working as project assistant at the Energy Institute. In his master thesis, he focused on the Austrian secondary balancing market, where he investigated the market concerning market structure and the related price effects. Since July 2015, Mr. Muggenhumer has worked as research fellow in the energy economic department at the Energy Institute at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz. Currently, his research focuses on energy efficiency measures, fee charging of energy grids and energy market analyses.
