Storage is growing rapidly. The question is how to deal with storage as a TSO, who is allowed to own storage assets and how can it provide products needed by the TSO. TenneT is involved in several pilot projects and will express their position on storage.

We will present how The Netherlands has developed the various stages of introduction of Energy storage. Combined steps forward in legal and technical innovations, and discussions with government ensures long term clarity of business cases.

Until now, no one seems to have been able to scale a business model for the aggregation of distributed energy sources that can benefit both prosumers and the electricity system. Elemize Technologies, a young Italian startup, is trying to do so, with a system that connects prosumers with electricity markets. The presentation will give the point of view of a startup operating in this sector, while also showing how energy market rules significantly affect the scalability of ESS aggregation.
